The people and places you will never forget
The Delta Music Museum is located in downtown Ferriday, Louisiana and is free to the public. The museum holds the distinction as the only Louisiana location marked with a Mississippi Blues Trail designation. The museum currently showcases 29 artists from musical genres of blues, gospel and country. During the 1950s, these genres would converge in the delta to create the new sound of Rock and Roll and Rockabilly music.
Who We Are
The Delta Music Museum (DMM) was first constituted in 2001 through a Cooperative Operating Agreement between the Friends of the Delta Music Museum (The Friends Group) and the State of Louisiana. The Office of the Louisiana Secretary of State operates the day to activities of the Museum. The Friends Group is charged with the task of raising funds and supporting the Museum staff to make the Museum a center of music history and musical performance.
